Position Overview

 

Looking for a smart, capable, and all-around passionate Business Development Manager to support the growth of our Food Sorting business.
Roles and Responsibilities: Focus on Sales Strategy of TOMRA Sorting Food

In Existing Application/Segments

·       Scouting and mapping of Existing Applications, market segments of TOMRA Sorting Food where there might be a fit for the Food Sorting equipment, analyzing Market Attractiveness and Strategic Fit while determining our USPs and value proposition towards customer

·       Expanding and keeping up to date Market Segment/Application Intelligence (MSI) via data base and other means/methods

·       Validation of the market potential/size of Unmet Needs and/or Existing Applications from a Global perspective but with special focus to China

·       Keeping track of trends, changes within these sectors

·       Voice of the market while screening the market for potential, threats in order to recommend priorities & approach.

·       Interaction with customers for macro evaluation of trends/needs

·       Translating the needs of each of the Existing Applications into clear requirements for sorting platforms while looking into cost-margins + benefit-to-customers and working closely together with product management. Voice of the regions while screening the regions for potential & threats in order to recommend priorities & approach

In New Application/Segments

·       Scouting and mapping for new applications, market segments of TOMRA Sorting Food, analyzing Market Attractiveness and Strategic Fit while determining our USPs and value proposition towards customer

·       Expanding and keeping up to date Market Segment/Application Intelligence (MSI) via data base and other means/methods

·       Validation of the market potential/size of Unmet Needs and/or new applications from a Global perspective but with special focus to China

·       Keeping track of trends, changes within these sectors

·       Voice of the market while screening the market for potential, threats in order to recommend priorities & approach

·       Interaction with customers for macro evaluation of trends/needs

·       Translating the needs of each of the New Applications into clear requirements for sorting platforms while looking into cost-margins + benefit-to-customers and working closely together with product management. Voice of the regions while screening the regions for potential & threats in order to recommend priorities & approach

Other tasks:

·       Strong collaboration & effective communication with the local China team, especially with local Product Management

·       Competitor mapping and analysis specifically in Food sorting segment

·       Assisting in further elaborating, implementing & communicating internally of the 5 year strategy

·       Certain KPI’s will need to be set up, tracked and communicated on a monthly/quarterly/ half yearly basis

·       Scouting, Evaluation and Execution of new business opportunities

·       Assisting in Knowledge Management ( Harvesting, Evaluating, Enhancing and Sharing of Information)

Candidate profile: ·       Excellent listening & observation skills

·       Excellent communication, analysis and evaluation skills

·       Eager to do research, mapping not just desk research but also hands-on with potential target customers

·       Affinity with sales

·       Is detailed oriented, technically skilled and passionate

·       Can manage and reach tough deadlines

·       Works in an excellent & professional way with the other departments

·       Used to work with external service providers and consultants

·       Is diplomatic but goal oriented

·       Is an ambassador for the company, both internal as external and lives TOMRA’s Values: Responsibility, Passion & Innovation

·       Is willing to travel abroad on a global scale to further collect, enhance and check information

Education: ·       Master in Business Management/Business Administration & Economics with focus on Strategic Management, Innovation Management & Business Development, preferably with strong technical background
Other skills/abilities: ·       Creative, innovative, analytical

·       Customer focus

·       Result driven; team worker

·       Multilingual: English, Chinese, other Asian languages…

·       Excellent in MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

·       Work experience in Market Research, Business Development & Strategy Review, Technical Sales, Sales of investment goods, B2B
